OurSquamata design is based on the Roman lorica squamata, an armor comprised of small iron or bronze overlapping scales sewn to a cloth backing. Used during the Roman Republic, lorica squamata is typicallydepicted as being worn by military units including regular legionaries, standard bearers, centurions, cavalry, and auxiliary infantry.
